Accessibility statement

Current scope and approach
BJI aims to make its English and Hebrew website and pilot waitlist usable by people with disabilities. Our accessibility work uses Israeli Standard 5568 and WCAG Level AA as reference requirements. This statement describes the current website; it is not a certification of full compliance.
The current service includes information, practitioner and reviewer waitlist forms, confirmation pages, privacy information, terms, and email unsubscribe pages. Video uploads, paid reviews, payments, and customer accounts are not available. Accessibility of these future services has not been assessed.
Using the website
- Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between links and controls, Enter to follow links, and Space to toggle checkboxes. Focus indicators show the selected control.
- A “Skip to content” link at the start of each public page bypasses the header.
- Use your browser's zoom and text settings. The layout adapts to narrow screens; zoom is not disabled.
- Forms have labels, required-field instructions, and error messages linked to invalid fields. Waitlist registration works without JavaScript.
- Images that convey information have text alternatives. Decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology. Pages identify their language and reading direction.
- The website respects your device's reduced-motion setting for scrolling. No accessibility widget needs to be activated to use these features.
Testing and remaining limitations
Automated Chromium checks cover English and Hebrew keyboard navigation, mobile layouts, text contrast, and enlarged presentation at 200% scaling. These checks do not establish compatibility with every browser or assistive technology.
A complete manual screen-reader assessment, including NVDA and VoiceOver, and broader browser and device testing remain outstanding. We have not completed an independent accessibility audit. Please report any barrier you encounter; listing a limitation does not waive accessibility obligations or your rights.
Report a barrier or request assistance
The BJI founder handles accessibility enquiries through support@joinbji.com. You can request help joining the waitlist or obtaining website information in an accessible format without completing the online form. Emailing for help does not subscribe you to updates; subscription still requires your explicit consent.
If possible, include the page address, what you tried to do, the barrier, and your browser or assistive technology. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or medical information. We will review the request and discuss an accessible way to provide the current service. Response deadlines required by applicable law continue to apply.
Display preferences
The floating “Accessibility” button opens optional settings for 25% larger text, high contrast, underlined links, and reduced motion. Use “Reset settings” to restore the defaults; your device's reduced-motion preference remains respected. The panel supports keyboard navigation and closes with Escape.
Chosen settings are saved in this browser's local storage and are not sent to BJI. If browser storage is unavailable, settings still work for the current page. The settings panel requires JavaScript; the website's core navigation and waitlist forms do not require activating it.
